Insättningsgarantin höjdes till 500.000kr den 6 oktober, men vad hände med investerarskyddet? Investerarskyddet ligger kvar på 250.000kr. Vad är då investerarskyddet som det inte pratas om lika mycket? Investerarskyddet är en ersättning som utgår från staten om ett institut (som har en investeringstjänst d.v.s. handel med värdepapper) går i konkurs och du som investerare inte kan få ut dina värdepapper eller pengar. Investerarskyddet ersätter inte värdeförändringar på dina värdepapper. Infördes efter EG direktiv 1999.
